happy birthday kate
Day -30: With less than a month to go, I took a break from trip preparations to wish my wife Kate a very happy birthday.
The day began with a traditional birthday breakfast comprising homemade fruit salad and coffee in bed, and ended with about a nine-course degustation meal with Kate’s folks Roger and Roz who are in town to help celebrate. Read all about it at Veggie Friendly.
As Kate was turning a delicate age with a zero after it, I was expecially careful not to say anything that might trigger an early mid-life crisis. Kate’s mum believes that the appropriate age to have a midlife crisis at these days is sixty, so on that score we’re both still a while off. Personally I don’t believe in them.
This is an old picture of Kate reading a biography of David Attenborough - somewhat appropriate I thought given the great anthropological expedition that we are about to set off on.
