overnight in sharjah

sharjah pan gulf apartment hotelDay 90: Flying out of Iran with Air Arabia (for whom we have nothing but praise) we arrived in Sharjah to be “kidnapped” by an Iranian national who was returning to her home in Dubai. Insisting that her husband should drive us into town, she dropped us off at an Indian restaurant in what must have been Sharjah’s Little India, where we had our first great post-Iran meal and then found a nearby hotel where we watched the Twenty20 World Cup semi-final with 150 Indian friends. Australia lost and India went on to win the title, but it was a memorable night and our first introduction to the love that Indians have for their cricketers… at least while they are winning.
