walking rose valley with spot the dog
Day 47: The only way to beat the heat here is to get up early. Rising at 5.30am we set off from Kose Pension on a walk through Rose Valley, with the pension’s dog Spot (and two of his friends) to guide us on the way.
An unexpected surprise was that Cappadocia’s hot air balloons had clearly decided that this morning the winds were right for a float through the Rose Valley.
Every few minutes as we walked along, a new hot air balloon would rise up from behind a red rock and take us by surprise. Early in the morning, the colours were fantastic.

That looks amazing you guys! There couldn’t be more contrast to when I was there and these formations were rising out of the snow!

Snow! That would have been quite a sight. We heard stories of snow in Turkey and Jordan - not something you generally associate with the Middle East?
