Day -27: Yesterday was the day that we took delivery of our Sony VAIO TX-series laptop. Here are some early thoughts. First, the thing is tiny. Weighing not much more than a kilogram it will be superportable and will be no burden at all to cart around with us. On our recent honeymoon we took our standard Dell laptop - the new one is probably half that weight.

Nice bright screen, good looking display, and despite the smaller screen there seems to be no difficulty in reading what’s on it. Our own website displays slightly smaller than on a normal sized computer so we can get a sense of the look of the site on regular screens.

Only real gripe? Windows Vista seens to take an awful long time to load - more than 3 minutes from start up until you can do anything. 3 whole minutes! Hello! I have a blog to write!

The final verdict? “I like it,” said Kate. “It works.”
