elliot braham’s dynamic itinerary builder for wordpress

Day -4: Kudos to Mr Elliot Braham. IT guru by day, wordpress troubleshooter by night. Elliot’s code for my dynamic itinerary page is now up and running and could not be working more perfectly.

It works like this: every time we upload a post with information about our accommodation, we enter six custom fields - the day of our trip, the place, the name of our accommodation, the price, any comments and our overall rating. The dynamic itinerary page searches through all our posts and organises the data into a handy table. Better still, there are links back to the original posts if you want to read more.

While we’re on the road, it’ll be the easiest way to keep a track of where we’ve been. And after the trip is over, it will be a permanent record of the journey.

Some technical wordpress information for those who are that way inclined (i.e. nerd alert!): The code relies on two other plugins: Coffee2Code’s Get Custom Field Values and no sq’s RunPHP. The itinerary page includes the php script which calls for the custom fields and constructs the table. I’ll post Elliot’s (mind-expanding) code here soon.

Anyway, huge thanks to Elliot Braham.
