our canadian dopplegangers
Weird. We met some people in the Jordanian desert that are Canadian travel dopplegangers of us.
Seriously. Of the catalogue of similarities:
- Jerome and Caroline started their trip in Europe, came through Turkey, Syria and Jordan (so did we)
- They’re now in Egypt and are en route to India with a stopover in the Gulf (so are we)
- They do not have a ticket home (neither do we)
- They don’t care much for dorm rooms shared with nineteen year old female backpackers (neither do we)
- They went out of their way to find the final book in the Harry Potter series (so did we)
- Caroline brought 8 pairs of underwear (so did Kate); Jerome brought 4 pairs (as did I)
- They have a travel blog (we’re thinking of starting one).
While the similarities are eerie, Jerome and Caroline are better looking, more intelligent than us and both have PhDs.
Needless to say, the sooner we manage to shake these wierdos, the better.

Okay, the fact that you brought the same number of pairs of underwear is seriously eerie.

And now that I think about it: I am highly amused (but not really all that surprised) that this fact came up in conversation.
