residency hotel andheri, mumbai
Day 1: Our first night out of Australia and the Residency Hotel Andheri lived up to our relatively low expectations for Asian budget airport hotels (it’s a tightly contested genre) and probably exceeded them in some aspects. What we really needed was sleep - and the hotel delivered.
Check-in was painless, staff were generally helpful and not overbearing, and while the hotel’s internet was down, the vegetarian Indian breakfast was excellent. As I always say, there is nothing like a pea curry to start the day!
The overriding impression we had was that we’d stumbled into a 3 star business hotel for Indians travelling to Mumbai.
While there were closer hotels to the airport, most of these were up at the next price point, and so we were happy to stay another kilometre or two down the road in more reasonably priced accommodation. It only took us ten minutes to get back to the airport at 10am the following morning.
