leaving sydney airport
Day 1: It doesn’t quite feel real but Kate and I are sitting here in the Qantas Club lounge waiting to be called for the flight to Mumbai. It’s been a whirlwind last week and I don’t think we’ve quite made the realisation that we we’ll be on the road for the next six months. Thanks to our amazing friend Jackie Bailey, a.k.a. The Jackals, who has taken such good care of us for the last week. Anyone who has helped to go through one’s kitchen cupboards to separate the old from the new (with some frightening discoveries) is a true friend indeed. Lovely also to “bump into” Serea and Jess Coates who happened to be there at the same time.
We’ve just been called! Qantas flight 123 to Mumbai is now boarding.

I can’t believe you uploaded this puffy eyed picture of me. It’s going to take some pretty awesome souvenirs to make up for this.
BTW, I’ll go through your cupboards anytime. What are friends for? (That doesn’t sound the way it did in my head). Also, your laundry lady sends her love.
