felucca sunset cruise, aswan
Day 70: What better way to wind down after a long day of travel than to spend a couple of hours on the Nile on the good felucca Relax? (That was the name of the boat. Relax. So we did.)
Helmed by an amicable pair of Nubian boatsman and business partners, we rounded Elephantine Island in the middle of the River Nile and got a good look back at the mighty Radamus II, the cruise ship that was shortly to become our home for the next couple of days.
Kate took the tiller to navigate our way through perillous waters with submerged rocks; only under her captaincy were we able to avoid this clear and present danger.
Nice way to spend a couple of hours, and 50 Egyptian pounds (US$9).
