a tomb with a view
Day 85: The hillside tombs at Naqsh-e Rostam, a few minutes drive from Persepolis, were reminiscent of those at Petra, though on less grand a scale.
Four tombs of near-identical design are cut into the rock here, and some of the reliefs that remain show figures from the royal court paying tribute to the king.

farewells at the shack
Day -2: Some final farewells tonight for Sydney friends, at “The Shack Party Bar”, our local backpackers’ pub down the end of Francis Street in Bondi Beach. The big surprise was the unexpected arrival of my dad, who secretly flew down from Brisbane for the occasion. Thanks dad!
