You couldn’t quibble with the location, right in the heart of the Plaka within 5 minutes walk from the Acropolis. We were probably lucky not to be in the dorm in Room 38, down a further two sets of stairs in an airless basement room, the door of which a former visitor had wryly marked “Alien Workshop”.

Simple and tiny, but smack in the middle of the picturesque Old Town. Just a 2 minute walk from the main square and another minute to the harbour, it was a great find at short notice.
